Building it
This is defiantly the coolest, fastest, and most fun machine I have ever
built. I started with a Banshee frame and cut out the entire center
(motor) section. From there I built a new center section along with
removable subframe to hold the massive R1 street bike engine. Then
came the custom fuel tank (Thanks to Mike B at Brenseke Welding for
bending the bottom on his CNC Brake).l fabricated all the brackets, lights, shift
assembly's, etc. I found out real quick that when you make the bike
twice as wide nothing fits back on. This meant A LOT of
fabrication. Dropping the motor in was the easy part,
its all those brackets and assembly's that took all the time.
Power
Zero to sixty seems in the neighborhood of 2-3 seconds. The bike ran 91.2mph
with the banshee motor, but now with the R1 motor it will pretty much run
as fast as you want to go. I have taken it up to about 105...and that's about as fast as I want to take it. It can do
92mph in 1st gear. I would figure the bike is good for about 150MPH if you were
nuts enough to try it. The power is EVERYWHERE. Its
amazing.
Fun
The bike is a lot of
fun to ride and gets some CRAZY looks from people, looks of disbelief. Unfortunately,
this includes the various police officers that have pulled me over.
So far I have been pulled over 23 times.....but have never received a
ticket.....because there is nothing to ticket! Its all DOT
legal!!! I love it =)))
